Mission

To support and promote the arts and artists through art education and community exhibition.

To stimulate creative activity, interest and enjoyment of art.

Monthly Meetings

Over a 100 members attend and display their art at our monthly meetings. An acclaimed artist (usually the invited Demonstrator) awards ribbon prizes in eight categories: Watercolor, oil/acrylic, mixed media, drawing/pastel, photography, ceramics/3D, Masters, and Best of Show. Meetings are held first Wednesdays at 7:00 pm at the Senior Center in the Park (except during the months of July and August) located 18041 Golden West Street, Huntington Beach, California.

Memberships

People who create art or who appreciate art are welcome to join the Huntington Beach Art League. Benefits of membership include a monthly newsletter and the chance to rent the Corner Gallery in the Huntington Beach Central Library and to rent panels in the Windows Gallery there. Annual dues are payable in January. Dues are $40 a year for individuals, $50 for two people at the same address, $60 for Patrons ($70 Joint-same address), $110 Benefactor ($120 Joint-same address) and $20 for students (16-21 years enrolled in an accredited school).  For membership forms and information, contact hbalmembership@gmail.com.

Juried Exhibitions

 We host two annual shows in our galleries at the Huntington Beach Central Library: (a) Members Show in the Spring and (b) Open Show in the Fall.

The HBAL schedules displays at the Huntington Beach Central Library's  Up Stairs and West End Galleries.

Scholarships

As part of our mission to promote the arts and artists and to stimulate creative activity, the Huntington Beach Art League awards several scholarships each year to local high school students.
